MEET YOUR HOST

Hi, I’m Barb. I created this conference because I envision a world where all early childhood professionals are excited to work with children who use challenging behavior and have what they need to do so effectively.

I love working with kids who use challenging behavior…but didn't always! I have vivid memories of power struggles and children getting hurt. Many days I went home fed up, embarrassed and questioning my career choice.

Then, I enrolled in a special ed program while simultaneously studying theater improv. My world burst open. I saw the power of capitalizing on children’s propensity for play. I learned that there were effective strategies I hadn’t been taught! I used what I learned, developed my own strategies, and helped kids. I pursued an Ed.D. and studied how storytelling could keep kids engaged, help children with delays, and prevent behavior problems.

This conference brings together those ideas and many more, as we create new conversations about what we even mean when we say “challenging behavior” and explore innovative, practical, and effective ways of supporting children.

Let’s transform challenging behavior together.

FACEBOOK

I work full time, part time, or weird hours – will I miss everything?

HOW IT WORKS

I don’t live in the US is this for me too?

How many conference sessions are there?

I am a family childcare provider or home visitor – is it for me?

21.

Can I share my daily link with the other teachers at my center?

How long is each session?

But what about the time difference, will I miss everything?

1 hour, give or take a few minutes.

Is the content relevant to parents and families of young children?

How long do I have to watch each session?

I’m not on Facebook. Can I still participate? I don’t want to miss

anything!

During the conference, you have 24 hours starting at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern. After the conference, as much time as you'd like if you decide to bring it home.

No pressure but I know at least a few  participants who made an account just to come hangout in our Facebook group and haven’t told their friends or family! You can delete it after the conference.

Is this really free?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Register and get 21 hours of learning + a daily workbook, May 8-14.

Yes! Please join us.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CREDIT

No! Your 24 hours to view the talks will just start at a different time of day than people in a

different part of the world.

Can I get professional development credit?

Nope. It’s all pre-recorded and you’ll get 24 hours to watch each session. If you’re worried, purchase a package to access the info for up to a year!

If you purchase a package you will be able to download a certificate for each session you participate in. That’s up to 21 hours/sessions starting at $98 (less than $5 per talk!).

Yes. I created this for early childhood teachers and directors but they are welcome and I think it will be highly relevant.

Will this count in my state?

Yes. A few sessions are geared towards circle time or classroom transitions but overall you will find it to be highly relevant.

If your state accepts a certificate of attendance for professional development hours then it should. Please check with your

supervisor if you are uncertain.

Don’t worry. May 8-14 you will get a daily email with a link to access the 3 talks for that day + a downloadable workbook.

So I have to pay to get the professional development?

I don’t want to miss my chance to talk with Barb (conference creator), the speakers, and other early childhood educators from around the world!

The learning and your professional growth is 100% free. You do need to buy a package to get access to the downloadable certificates.
